EasyLanguage ® is a full-featured programming language designed for traders. EasyLanguage ® can be used to create powerful trading indicators, strategies and custom trading applications. EasyLanguage is an easy-to-learn, but powerful, computer programming language for creating technical in-dicators and trading strategies for the TradeStation trading platform. EasyLanguage is designed by traders, for traders, to de scribe trading ideas to a co mputer in plain English-like. The following free EasyLanguage tutorials provide a way to learn TradeStation’s EasyLanguage programming language using a mixture of detailed instructions, screen prints, and videos. There are tutorials on creating TradeStation indicators, strategies, show-me studies, and paintbar studies for charts, RadarScreen and the Scanner.

To do this we will use the reserved word in easylanguage “TestNew”. The indicator will follow the trend of a 14-period RSI and will signal the OverBought and OverSold areas. Insert the Lenght for the RSI calculation – 14 is the standard value.

Accessing Reserved Word & Function Help:

  • From the Menu bar of the TradeStation® Development Environment, click Help > EasyLanguage Reserved Words & Functions
  • Right-click on any reserved word in the EasyLanguage code editor and select Definition of... to display context-sensitive information.
  • Select Help from a right-click shortcut menu while editing an EasyLanguage Document to access editor related help.
  • Click the Help button or Definition button in a window to display context-sensitive information.

Ways to find information in Help:

  • Drop-Down Navigation Menus - The top navigation menu includes sub-menus within each category to guide you to the topics of interest. Click the top menu item at any level to see a summary, or an indented item for more details.

  • Topic Outline - The topic outline pane on the right side of each topic displays a partial outline of topics near the current topic displayed in bold text. Select any topic in the list to view it or click the top topic in the outline to move back one level.

  • Search - The Search box lets you locate help topics that contain term(s) you type into the text box. A search engine looks through every topic in the help and returns a list of help topics, including a brief summary, that include one or more of the search terms entered. In addition, the search terms in a topic and summary are highlighted with bold text. For example, searching for the terms: drawing object would highlight the words drawing, object, and drawing object in each topic title and summary.
