During the online conference we will use two applications:

Pros: The Whova mobile app made it easy for me to select PD sessions, take notes, and organize my thoughts while the desktop app afforded me the opportunity to immediately download materials and snip and save images. I do appreciate that Whova emailed me a copy of all of the notes I'd taken in each of my PD sessions. Whova is an award-winning event and conference app. It helps you gain insights about people you meet at events. Whova is one of the most widely used mobile apps by professionals for networking at conferences, trade shows, expos, summits, conventions, business meetings, corporate events, association events, and community gatherings.

  • Zoom meetings for all conference sessions and meetings
For the best conference experience, please download Zoom Client for Meetings on your laptop or desktop via https://zoom.us/download
Note: We recommend using the desktop client. The Web-browser does not offer all functionalities, e.g. regarding the use of breakout rooms.
  • Whova Web app is our conference management system

Whova provides all information about the conference: programme, keynote speakers, sessions and workshops, abstracts, announcements and community features.

To get access to the conference sessions and meetings you need to have a Whova Web account (laptop/MAC version).

Please use the e-mail address that you used to register for the JIRC20. We recommend adding a profile picture and description, so it is easier for others to connect with you in Whova. Prior to the conference, you will receive a link from us to participate in Whova. You can login with your Whova account.

Note: You will have to be logged on to Whova in order to join the JIRC20 Zoom sessions.

Attending a conference session
The agenda with all the conference sessions can be found in Whova. In the desktop version, please click on a session to view the session description. At the bottom of this description, a link to the corresponding Zoom meeting is posted.

Use the Zoom links with your Zoom account to join the meetings about 5 minutes before the start of the session (15 minutes for presenters and the session organizers). The technical moderator of the session will let you in from the waiting room. Our recommendation is to turn on your webcam to engage more with other participants and to contribute to a more lively conference experience. During the talks and presentations, you can ask questions in the Zoom chat or live at the moment via the ‘raise hand’ option.

JIRC Meet-ups and Virtual Meets
To interact with other JIRC participants please go to the community area in Whova. Here you will find Meet-ups and Virtual Meets. You can join one of the meet-ups any time during the conference to have a chat or discussion with other participants.

Technical Support
We understand that technical difficulties can occur during the online conference. If you experience any technical problems, please do not hesitate to send a message via ‘Ask organizers anything’. You will find this chat within the community area. This chat will be monitored during the entire conference. Therefore, we can help you at any time. In case you have any further questions, please contact us at 4tu-re-conference@utwente.nl.
